Name our NFT staking protocol!
You asked, we listened… the status of NFT-Fi.
We know. We’ve been listening. NFT-Fi — to be renamed — stands to become a critical link in Onessus’ infrastructure that knits the essence of DeFi, the innovation of non-fungible tokens, and the spirit of gaming all together.
We’re impatient too.
And while we still can’t give you a launch date, we are working feverishly to put everything in place, tinkering with all the mechanics, crossing all the t’s and dotting all the i’s to get to our community a protocol that we can all be proud of.
And we’re not far away at all.
To pre-celebrate (yes, that’s a word now) the impending launch of our NFT-Fi protocol, we wanted to open up a naming contest to our community.
Because NFT-Fi is an ideal, a spirit, a description.
An aspiration. A vision. A moment where we capture the future inside of a single idea.
Something we all understand what it could be when we hear it.
But we don’t think it’s a name.
And we’d like you to suggest one.
We’re asking all of the Onessus community to head on over to NFTFi on our Onessus Discord channel and submit their idea for a name for our NFT staking protocol. We’ll be rewarding the winning idea with a 1/1 NFT.
Submit your suggestion by July 10th for a chance to win.
If we don’t quite find a name we like from the community and choose one ourselves, we’ll still give the reward to our favorite.
How’s that for verifiable fairness?
So… with that being said, here’s a deep dive into NFT-Fi (and we’ll use that name for now).
Onessus’ NFT-Fi… A Protocol for NFTs
Onessus’ forthcoming NFT-Fi protocol is one of the most exciting and innovative developments in both the NFT and gaming sectors. So what exactly is NFT-Fi?
NFT-Fi is an Onessus initiative where holders of NFTs under the Onessus umbrella can lend, burn, upgrade, and stake their tokens to earn yield using VOID tokens. NFT holders can earn both VOID and exclusive NFTs.
Staking NFTs as Easy as Staking Cryptocurrencies
This has never been done before, so it requires a bit of explaining. Just like a DeFi protocol where users stake crypto assets to lend to others, NFT-Fi is like DeFi for NFTs. (They can’t, however, be used as collateral for borrowing.)
Holders of any NFT in the Onessus family of products, including those from our partners, can take advantage of NFT-Fi.
All Onessus NFTs in a Single Protocol
NFT-Fi is a staking protocol for all Onessus products. As an example, HodlGod players can stake their NFTs on NFT-Fi to earn experience and upgrade them.
That will give players more staking capacity and help generate scarcer and more valuable NFTs. To incentivize the staking of NFTs, players will earn VOID tokens each month for as long as they stake their tokens. This will apply to all Onessus NFTs.
Our partners over at Void Elementals just dropped their genesis collection of NFTs — premium hand-drawn character cards that are based on the periodic table of elements. The collectibles will be stakable on NFT-Fi.
We also recently collaborated with Dark Country to create a set of never-before-seen characters that could inhabit the worlds of both games! There are five different werewolf and five different cowboy character collectibles, as well as four animated characters (two werewolves and two cowboys). The animated characters are known as The Fabled.
These collectibles can be staked on NFT-Fi, as well as the crypto trading card NFTs we created in our colab with our friends over at Blockchain Heroes.
The Fashion Industry… Not to be Outdone
We’ve also partnered with luxury fashion and accessories brand Boysterous Couture, who dropped their first NFT pack — Alligator X — in early June. Each pack had 4 NFTs, ranging in scarcity and grade. They can be staked on NFT-Fi, allowing owners to earn VOID.
The more valuable your NFT, the more VOID tokens you can earn. By accumulating VOID, you’ll be able to buy rarer and more valuable NFTs within the Onessus ecosystem.
And we still have many more collaborations to announce, so the NFT-Fi universe is only set to grow. NFTs are about to get a whole lot more DeFiant, and Onessus plans to be at the forefront of the use-case and utility expansion of scarce non-fungible digital collectibles.
